Brady Leman, born on October 16, 1986, in Calgary, Alberta, is one of Canada's most accomplished ski cross athletes. His career is a testament to perseverance, resilience, and dedication. Initially competing as an alpine ski racer from 2002 to 2009, Brady transitioned to ski cross—a discipline of freestyle skiing—in 2009, where he continued to compete until his retirement in 2023.
Early Career and Transition
Brady began his skiing journey with alpine racing, representing Canada internationally for seven years. Seeking new challenges and opportunities, he shifted to ski cross, quickly making his mark in the sport.
Overcoming Adversity
His path to success was fraught with challenges. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Brady suffered a broken leg during training, forcing him to withdraw. In the 2014 Sochi Olympics, he narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth after a crash in the final. Undeterred, these setbacks fueled his determination to succeed.

Brady's perseverance paid off at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, where he won the gold medal in men's ski cross.
