Karen Clark, Karen Fonteyne, and Cari Read are elite synchronized swimmers who have proven to be outstanding athletes and ambassadors for Alberta, Canada, and the sport of synchronized swimming.

All three ladies swam for many years with the Calgary Aquabelles.  Long hours of practice, great skill, endurance, grace, strength and dedication always showed through in their performances.  Their achievements were at the provincial, national and international levels. Many gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded to them as individual, duet, and team synchronized swimmers. Karen Clark was dedicated, loyal, and was a natural athlete in the water and a powerful solo champion.  Karen Fonteyne and Cari Read blazed a trail of artistry and athletics through Europe and Canada as duet partners.  Their innovations in and out of the water were thrilling to watch. The three ladies helped capture the team's silver medals at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta and the World Aquatic Championships.

Today, Karen Fonteyne and Cari Read can be found on the pool deck at Calgary Aquabelles Synchronized Swimming Club coaching up and coming athletes. Their skill in routine choreography and technical expertise is benefiting many young Alberta synchronized swimmers. Karen Clark is a motivational speaker and has spoken to students in over 80 schools all over Alberta and Canada. Karen Clark, Karen Fonteyne and Cari Read all continue to give back to the sport and their community.
