Leslie Sproule has enthusiastically devoted herself to all levels of synchronized swimming since 1966 as an athlete, coach, administrator, and board member.
Leslie has been coaching Synchronized Swimming for the past twenty-eight years. Her career includes fourteen years as the Head Coach of the Edmonton Auroras, fourteen years as a National Team coach for Synchro Canada including two years as the High-Performance Development Coach and two years as the High-Performance Director. She has coached many of her teams to success on the International stage at two Olympic Games, numerous World Championships, Pan American, Commonwealth Games, World Cups, Nationals and Canada Games.
She developed the “Outreach Program” across the country to bridge the gap between the club and National Team programs and initiated a Talent Development Program for coaches and athletes at the level just below the National Team. Leslie has written a book on Coaching Synchronized Swimming that has sold in over twenty-five countries. She has consulted in fifteen countries as a coach mentor and educator as well as helping to develop more technical expertise in athletes.
Currently, Leslie is the High-Performance Mentor Coach for Synchro Alberta, works as a Physical Literacy Coach for the Cascade Swim Club in Calgary, and works with the Men’s National Water polo team in Calgary. She sits on the Board of Directors for Coaches of Canada and is currently a UANA (Union Americana de Natacion) TSSC (Technical Synchronized Swimming Committee) member.
Leslie’s coaching philosophy includes developing a complete athlete in a holistic, positive training environment, and developing life skills through sports and coaching to win.
