Don Sprague

Don Sprague has been a major player in producing some of the most memorable major sporting events in Alberta's sporting history. Don Sprague began volunteering back in 1980 as Tournament Chairman for the Canadian Professional Golf Association Championship. He then became an Executive Member of the Board of Governors with Universiade '83. He was a board member with the 1988 Olympic Winter Games in Calgary, Chairman of the 1994 Canadian Figure Skating Championships, Chairman of the 1996 World Figure Skating Championships, and Chairman of 1997 Grey Cup Inc. hosted by Edmonton. Don Sprague has also been an executive member of the Alberta Sport Council. In Edmonton, Don Sprague has been a board member of the Edmonton Eskimos Football Club for six years, and the President of Edmonton Northlands where he was involved at the committee level dealing with issues involving horse racing, rodeos, minor hockey, and the Edmonton Oilers.
