Alex Romaniuk

Alex Romaniuk has been very active in amateur wrestling both nationally and internationally. He served as president of the Canadian Amateur Wrestling Association from 1969 to 1974. In 1964, he coached the Canadian Commonwealth Wrestling team. In 1969, he received the Amateur Athletic Union of Canada President's Award, Alberta Branch, for his contribution to sports. In 1972 at the Olympic Games, Alex Romaniuk was the recipient of the Olympic Gold Star, Diploma of Honour, and a special plaque commemorating 60 years of international wrestling.
