Swimming Athlete - Inducted 1978
Thomas Sharkey won his first gold medal in the 50m breaststroke at the 1969 Pan American Games in Argentina. In 1973, he changed sports and won a gold medal in basketball in the "B" division of the Stoke-Mandeville Games in England.
