Dave “Sweeney” Schriner

Dave "Sweeney" Schriner held the minor league scoring records four times with four different teams before turning professional in 1934. He was called up to the New York Americans Hockey Team in 1937 and was named Rookie of the Year. In 1938 and 1939, he was the National Hockey League Scoring Champion and in 1940, he was second in scoring. Dave "Sweeney" Schriner was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1939. During his five years with them, he played on two Stanley Cup Championship Teams. He was selected as an NHL All-Star twice. "Sweeney" Schriner was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1962.
