Born March 28, 1963, Sharon Hambrook was one of Canada’s leading synchronized swimmers during the late 1970s and early 1980s, achieving international success across solo, duet, figures, and team competition.
She first gained international recognition as a member of Canada’s silver medal–winning team at the 1979 Pan American Games. Between that performance and the 1984 Olympic Games, Hambrook earned a total of fifteen gold and silver medals at major international competitions, establishing herself among the world’s elite synchronized swimmers.
